On the eve of COP27 in Egypt, the Global Solidarity Fund supported the International Union of Superiors General (UISG) in launching this new statement on the environment, drawing on Pope Francis’s Laudato Si’ letter to call on the global community for an integral approach to the ecology crisis.

The event was held at the UISG headquarters in Rome and online on 3 November, with participation from the diplomatic, civil society and Church communities demonstrating the spirit of partnership needed to save our common home.

To achieve an integral approach to the crisis, the Sisters call on the global community to integrate responses to climate change and biodiversity loss, to integrate care for people and our planet, and to integrate vulnerability from the margins. Specific actions in each of these three areas are set forth.
